Following Curtin University Alumni’s AGM, alumni and guests are encouraged to stay for a lively panel discussion about “The Changing Landscape of Adult Education”. Joining me on the panel will be Professor Linley Lord, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Curtin Singapore, Mr Bevan Cheong, Chief Transformation Officer of Tokio Marine Life Insurance and Mr Edmund Seng, MD of Calent3 & The Synergise HR Group.
The discussion will focus on:
– The changes to the Adult Continuing Education landscape in Singapore,
– Trends with regards to Adult Continuing Education in Singapore,
– How employers are taking to the initiative driven by the Singapore government
– Possible synergies between Pre-Employment Training (Tertiary Educstion) and Continuing Education & Training (CET)

Edmund Seng is Founder and Managing Director of Calent3 Pte Ltd. With more than a decade of business, management and human capital consulting experience, he has led and managed consulting teams throughout Asia Pacific partnering Fortune 500 MNCs, large international organizations, government agencies and non-profit organizations in career and talent management initiatives. A seasoned consultant, trainer, facilitator and coach, he was practice leader and Managing Partner of HRM3 Asia. With HRM3, he led and grew the Organization Effectiveness (OE), Outplacement & Career Transition (CT) as well as Human Resource Transformation (HRT) services into a regional consulting outfit.

Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore Ltd.
Mr. Bevan Cheong is the Chief Transformation Officer at Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore Ltd. (TMLS) and is responsible for driving changes in business and processes to meet the organization’s strategic objectives. Bevan has over 18 years of experience in the life insurance industry, starting his career in AIA’s Actuarial department. At TMLS, he has led teams across various disciplines, such as Actuarial, Group Insurance, Bancassurance and Distribution Operations. His entrepreneurial streak drove him to start the Accident & Health Business lines, first in Manulife, and then again in TMLS.
Professor Linley Lord
Pro Vice Chancellor and President, Curtin Singapore
Professor Linley Lord is the Pro Vice-Chancellor and President of Curtin Singapore with overall responsibility for the academic integrity of the campus programs. She currently chairs the Education Services Interest Group for the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce. Prior to her appointment in Singapore Linley was Chair of Curtin University’s Academic Board and a member of the University Council. She was also the Co-Lead for Curtin’s Athena SWAN Project aimed at increasing the number of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine, and the Director of the Maureen Bickley Centre for Women in Leadership (MBC) at the Faculty of Business and Law. She was the inaugural Academic Director for the Curtin Leadership Centre, leading the development of co-curricular student leadership programs.
